One month. That was all I had. How could I selfishly devour this thing called food when I had already committed to something? All I did was eat and eat and eat and drink and drink and drink and eat some more. Crazy right? But during those times all I could think was, eff it. I love eating. I’m too lazy to work out.
January. The month of the photo shoot. I knew I had to get something done. I went back to the gym only this time I was going to be trained by someone tough! My trainer Joel is awesome. He’s the nicest and his knowledge about working out whether it be gaining or losing weight just blew me away. Of course, I knew I wouldn’t be able to achieve my dream body in such a short amount of time without dieting. Who’s my FIT-spiraiton? CANDICE SWANEPOEL. NO DOUBT. And of course, I just had to choose pictures from Halloween: Victoria’s Secret style.
Oh. My. Goodness. Dieting. I had never really been on a diet. Sometimes I wouldn’t eat rice but that’s about it. If I wanted to achieve the Candice body just in time for my shoot, I knew I would have to go on a major diet. When I first told people I started working out plus dieting, they couldn’t believe it. They would always tell me that I was already skinny and that I didn’t need it. But I knew I did. The sad part about it was, I couldn’t even fit into my jeans! That must mean something! Cue in Mean Girls clip:
For the first two weeks, my diet consisted of wheat bread, low-fat or soy milk, green tea, boiled eggs, steamed chicken and fish, fruits and vegetables. I wasn’t allowed to eat rice, anything with sugar or salt, anything high in sodium. I would eat 6 times a day. It was so hard. The only way to control myself was to stay away from food not within my diet! Even though food kept calling me to the table! Of course I would sneak in a bite or two of a burrito or a piece of chocolate, but what can I do? I’m a girl who loves food (kahit hindi halata). On the day of my shoot, I was shocked. I didn’t have that little belly, my legs and arms were firmer and lastly, I was more confident. I didn’t feel sluggish. I felt really healthy. Staying away from all that junk food and fast food really got me going the good way.
The coolest part about our shoot? We got to take a private plane to Balesin Island.
The Rogue team doing their thing!
My favorite shot. I like sand.
I told Mark that I wanted to swing on the tree to unleash my inner amazona!
Aside from my Rogue shoot, I also shot one of my videos here for my DGFILM1 class. It’s too bad I can’t post it because its still on tape. Yes, tape. I’m too lazy to bring that firewire thing-a-ma-jig out. Oh, and thank you so, so, so much to the Rogue team. They’re the best. Seriously.
