I have always loved out of this world concepts. I love zombies. I love books, movies, tv shows, mangas, video games, clothes, tattoos, etc. pertaining to zombies. When I heard about Outbreak Manila, I just HAD to be a part of it. As much as I wanted to be a zombie, I wanted to know how it felt like to actually run away from one. I would be just like Andrea in her last scenes of the finale of The Walking Dead. Imagine her running that long from a horde of zombies. Unbelievable. I wanted to get fit for the race but the lazy daisy in me just let me pig out and watch The Game of Thrones instead (what I watch in between The Walking Dead and New Girl).
The day of the race came and I was excited. I guess I was almost too excited because once they fired that go signal, I just ran like anything. I was running for my life while other people were tripping and falling over. Another zombie was running back and forth. It was like he was a Charger and Hunter in one (L4D)! I wasn’t even into 5 minutes of the race and I already wanted to quit. I was so scared and I was screaming at the top of my lungs. My legs were getting weak and more and more zombies just kept coming at me. I had a mini-panic attack.
That’s me getting chased by a zombie! She is so kick-ass for being able to walk in heels. I can’t even do that properly! (Photo by Franc Ramon)

I didn’t quit. My friends pushed me. If I’m not athletic, mas lalo sila! HAHAHA! My favorite part was the “Zombie Guts” obstacle. You had to pick up pieces of cloth and put them around you as if they were zombie guts so that you can camouflage yourself. Of course, you would have to walk like a zombie or else the other zombies (mind you, they were plenty) in that zone are going to get your one of your flags aka your life meter. I was so into it but at the same time, I was scared out of my mind! Once I saw that one zombie was reaching for my flag, I growled in my most zombie-ish voice, “ZOMBIE AKOOOOO GUUWAAARRR”! HAHAHAH!
It’s one experience to remember. I do hope they get to do this in Subic. Outbreak Subic. Oh yeah. It would be super cool because the forests there are just amazingly spooky.

Speaking of zombies, if you remember my previous post, I wasn’t able to upload my short film featuring my zombie friends on Vimeo. My good friend Youtube did the trick. Enjoy!

You should have tried the earlier waves. The zombies were fierce. By the way, I was the one taking photos in your wave. Ended up doing the trail twice. It was fun watching your wave get scared for a change. Sharing my blog on Outbreak Manila as well. http://francramon.com/?p=3446 =>
I was supposed to join, but sadly, ang layo eh. HAHAHA, I hope they have one in Subic! This seems fun!
Sayang! Sana nga magkaroon sa Subic! Wild yun kasi forests naman yung andun :p
Tapos what more kung may midnight wave pa? Intense!!

A lot more people ought to check this out and understand this side of the story. I can’t believe you aren’t more popular because you most certainly possess the gift.
